21 Outings
Our monthly general meetings are supplemented through out the year by various outings listed here.
Fleet summer activities center around two and three day cruises on weekends and holidays from May (Memorial Day) through mid-September. Destinations are planned to encourage participation in a variety of shore activities by sailors of all boat sizes. Harbors visited usually range from Northpoint Marina on the IL-WI border to Grand Haven, MI. Check out the Cruising Grounds page for our Harbor Guide listing.
An annual event is a two week shore cruise including a trans-Lake
Michigan crossing with the destination being the Mac Bay Get-Away. This is a three
to four day summer rendezvous with the Lake Michigan
Catalina Association (LMCA), at the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club in
Holland, MI . A
variety of activities include the Fulbright Cup Race on Lake Michigan and
the Pickle Factory Race on Lake Macatawa - a true test of tacking ability
and teamwork. This year the event has been
renamed The Pete Duerr Memorial. Let’s all plan to be there as a tribute to a
