Our arrival at South Bass Island came after dark, which made entering an unfamiliar harbor even more difficult. The color GPS Chartplotter was a great tool for navigating around the numerous shoals and rocky shorelines in Western Lake Erie.

After a "close encounter" with an unlit iron dock after dark, we made the unanimous decision to try and make the rest of our arrivals during daylight hours.

Our second day was also cool and sunny, but today we had a good 17 knot breeze on the beam to sail up towards the mouth of the Detroit River.
