After a late start out of Chicago, due to a flat tire and a needed oil change, we finally arrived in Cleveland at 2:00 a.m. eastern time.  We made a brief stop at Quiet Island , to turn on shore power, and then headed for a good, but short night's sleep at a hotel.

The next morning, we made a provisioning stop at a grocery store, and then over to Boat U.S., to purchase two jerry cans for extra fuel. We weren't sure how available fuel would be this early in the season, and we didn't want to get stuck somewhere.

Next came the task of loading the boat with all the gear we brought for the trip. The van that we borrowed from Cheryl's brother John, was packed to the roof. How was it all going to fit?
