Waukegan Harbor, IL

Waukegan Harbor Light, 36 feet above the water, is shown from a white cylindrical tower on the outer end of the S pier. Stacks 1.5 miles N of the harbor are prominent. The entrance channel leads W between parallel piers. A breakwater extending from the N shore protects the entrance from the NE seas. Caution: Detached rock ledges E of the harbor entrance are marked by a buoy on the E side and a lighted buoy on the N. Boaters should keep to the N of the lighted buoy.
